Comments: I have to admit – this isn’t my usual cup of tea. I was more than skeptical when an acquaintance passed their name along to me. But, I checked them out anyway. I liked them. I listened to them again. I liked them more. I listened to another track. I liked them more. I . . . well, you get the idea. Anyway, they’ve made it into my regular rotation, and it looks like they’ll be staying put too.
… (In reference to the February 18th Tsunami benefit concert at Kate’s Kafe) –
Of the four bands participating in the February 18th Benefit Show at Kate’s Kafe, Hype Unit made the longest trip to be a part of the event. These guys trekked up to Phillipsburg, NJ from Plymouth Meeting, and had several fans in tow making the trip for them. Although we didn’t have a huge crowd for the event, these boys definitely got a worthwhile reaction.
Although the members of Hype Unit had a more subdued stage presence than others that night, I can’t say they had less energy. Their energy came through their music more than their body language, and a subdued sort of strength really works for these guys.
