AX: Where are you from?
Rob: We’re from New Brunswick, New Jersey.

AX: How would you describe your music?
Rob: Melodic punk and hard rock

AX: If we were to go to one of your live shows, what could we expect?
Rob: You never know what to expect at one of our live shows. We have a very energetic live show. We basically tend to be all over the place and have done things like used a giant cell phone prop, and our drummer has lit his cymbals on fire.

AX: Who are some of the band’s biggest influences?
Rob: We all share different influences. My biggest are Goldfinger, Thrice, Iron Maiden, Queen, etc. The list goes on and on. Our guitar player Iam listens to stuff like At the Drive-In and The Clash. Greg listens to old school punk rock, and our drummer listens to everything as well.

AX: What’s the history behind the band? How did you all get together?
Rob: Me, Lucas, and Greg all played in previous bands since we were like 14. At one point in 2002, Lucas’ recent band (Forever New) broke up as well as mine (Dodgeball). We talked about just going into the studio and recording some songs together – that became our first EP. The rest is history.

AX: What sparked your interests in the music industry? Was there a particular event or person that made each of you decide to get into music?
Rob: I had been listening to music all my life. For me it just came natural. I like getting on stage and performing. It’s sort of this whole other side to me. Once I discovered there was this whole scene of local bands in my area, that’s when I decided this is what I want to do with my life.

AX: What do you hope people can take from you music? From you live shows?
Rob: I just hope people like the music. From our live shows, I always want people to have a good time. Some kid recently, on a stop of the Warped Tour, told us we were the best band he’d seen all day and the most fun he’s had watching a band, and that’s on the Warped Tour with 50 other bands! Those little things and moments are what makes what we do special.

AX: What makes Deagle different than other bands in your area or genre?
Rob: I think a lot of bands nowadays start a band knowing they want to sound a certain way or they know the “in” look so they make sure to dress that certain way or what have you, but with Deagle, all of our sound comes from different places. We all have so many different influences. What we play doesn’t come from a pre-determined sound. We just play what we like and make it work. It sounds broad, but I think that’s the best way I can explain it.

AX: Where do you see this project taking you? Or where would you like to have it take you?
Rob: This band has come so far in the little time we’ve been together. We’ve done like 3 East Coast tours, 1 national tour, and just recently 10 days on the Warped Tour. It’s been going well, and I expect it almost to reach even greater heights in the future. Right now we’re taking some time off from touring to write the follow-up record to 2004’s “The Waiting Room” CD.

AX: Where can people find out more about the band and pick up you CD and merch?
Rob: People can log onto our website at www.deaglemusic.com, or the way we usually keep in touch with our fans and friends is through MySpace. You can find us at www.myspace.com/deagle. We have all sorts of stuff on there, including our own individual pages, tour photos and blogs, and other stuff. You can also buy our CD off of Rockout Records’ site, www.rockoutrecords.com, and www.smartpunk.com.
