AX:  Where are you from?
Split Fifty: Tannersville, PA – which is one hour from NYC and one 1/2 hour from Philly.

AX:  How would you describe your music?
Split Fifty: Concept rock and roll, which in laymans terms is simply punk hardcore and good ole fashioned rock and roll wrapped in a candy shell.

AX:  If we were to go to one of your live shows, what could we expect?
Split Fifty: A passive aggressive, passionate temper tantrum minus all the hokey pre-planned stage moves used by so many bands these days.  Blood, sweat and a whole lot of sass baby!

AX:  Who are some of the band’s biggest influences?
Split Fifty: Too many to list, and listing the ones that come to mind would paint a picture of what we don’t sound like.  Everything from the Beatles to Nirvana, At the Drive-in to Morrisey – it’s all in there.

AX:  What’s the history behind the band?  How did you all get together?
Split Fifty: We all played in other bands, met through the local scene, and [with] our bands playing together one at a time we realized our destiny was to rock.

AX: What sparked your interests in the music industry?  Was there a particular event or person that made each of you decide to get into music?
Split Fifty: Zach and Josh, [our] singer and guitarist, have both been rocking since childhood, being in their first bands and touring by junior high. Now we’re in our twenties.

AX:  What do you hope people can take from you music?  From you live shows?
Split Fifty: Trueness to our art form, people should know that we are naive enough to do this without caring about the end result, and that we are 100% devoted to our art.  What you see is real and not a product of over-production or crafty business.

AX:  What makes Split Fifty different than other bands in your area or genre?
Split Fifty: We are one of a kind.  There isn’t anything like us out there and there won’t ever be.  Does that sound cocky?  I hope it does.  That was my intent.

AX:  Where do you see this project taking you?  Or where would you like to have it take you?
Split Fifty: We will at some point dominate the airwaves and television, there will surely be action figures and t-shirts with our faces on them, and at that point we will use our voices to slander and have a laugh at the many ladder climbing industry slimers that have ruined the last 6 or so years of music.

AX:.  Where can people find out more about the band and pick up you CD and merch?
Split Fifty: www.splitfifty.com, www.purevolume.com/splitfifty, and of course you can buy a Split Fifty CD at most any retail CD store, and if they don’t have it in stock you can order it right there at the store or online.  We have a brand new EP coming out on Brandname records this coming January.  Legendary production team Sheppard and Kenny Smith (Head Automatica, Bayside, Marcy’s Playground and even Mandy Moore and Aaron Carter) will be doing our record in NYC this September and October.  That release will be everywhere CDs are sold.
